Opening your Ready-to-Fruit Grow Kit.

The amazing feeling of starting something new, you get home and wonder what should I do first? You prepared your new “habitat” for your special Fun-Guy. You spent hours researching ways to maintain humidity, Oxygen/Free Air Exchange. Now, its the time to put all that knowledge to the test and fruit those mushrooms! There are two ways we can go around promoting those primordial/pins to continue growing into Mushrooms.

  1. Side Fruiting - cutting a small x or poking holes on the side of the bag and enticing the primordial/fruiting bodies to grow out of the bag.

    • This is the most preferred method if you’re not able to control humidity and air exchange. This provides the best protection of the delicate mycelium and allows the primordial/pin formation to gradually climatize to your homes growing conditions. This is a delicate way of growing and will help prevent a sudden climate shock which can kill or stop growth of the mushroom.

2. Top Fruiting - Opening the top of the bag and exposing the top of the Mushroom grow block to atmosphere.

  • This method is preferred if you’re able to keep high humidity within your Growing/Fruiting Chamber. The mushrooms will be exposed to more fresh air and provide a more Mushrooms.

  • If you prefer this method, you can adapt a method of slowly acclimatizing the mushroom grow kit by incrementally cutting a portion of the top of the grow bag every few hours till the Grow Kit is exposed.
