White Millets have a hull that is separate from the bran and germ of the grain. The outer hull of the millet grain is noticeably hard and shiny (more water resistant), so it both holds moisture in well and prevents clumping. White Millets are the best premium option when making mycelium spawn as it provides the most nutrient density and effective surface area. The size of Millets allows for mycelium to quickly colonize the grain as the size of the grain can be packed closer together. Another added benefit of of the Millets size is the amount of inoculation points possible. You will notice dramatically quicker colonization rates in Grain Spawn and Hardwood Substrate when spawning to Bulk.

Millets are high in nutrition and dietary fibre. They serve as good source of protein, micronutrients and phytochemicals. The millets contain 7-12% protein, 2-5% fat, 65-75% carbohydrates and 15-20% dietary fibre. The essential amino acid profile of the millet protein is better than various cereals such as maize.
