The gentle giant of mushrooms. To grow these beautiful mushrooms from our kits, it is best to allow the mycelium to fully colonize the grain, once the grain has been colonized you can give it a gentle mix by breaking apart the mycelium and mixing it into the hardwood substrate below. This will then allow the mycelium to colonize and work its way through the hardwood. Once the kit has been fully colonized you’ll want to introduce it into fruiting environment, ideally the mycelium has started to pin prior to introduction into the fruiting chamber. If you don’t have a fruiting chamber, you can create one easily with a plastic tote. We want to maintain the humidity where the Mushroom will grow. Alternatively, you can use this Kit to create an outdoor garden bed, as is traditionally done with Wine Cap mushrooms.
